AccountingNearYou is a directory. You search it, we send you to an accounting firm's own website. We do not sell your details as leads, we run no advertising, and we build no profile about you. This page says exactly what that means in terms of data.

What we collect from you

Two analytics tools, and nothing else. There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no contact form, so there is no place on this site where you can give us your name or email.

  • Ahrefs Web Analytics counts page views and the site you arrived from. It sets no cookie and writes nothing to your browser's storage. We verified that on the live site rather than taking the vendor's word for it. Because it stores nothing on your device and shares nothing, there is nothing in it to opt out of.
  • Google Analytics 4 measures the same thing in more detail and does set cookies. It runs with Google Consent Mode v2, with advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation all denied by default and never switched on. This is the one you can turn off.

Cloudflare, which serves this site, tells our code the approximate city and region your request came from so that the "near me" pages can show firms near you. It is used to pick what to render and is not stored, logged against you, or passed to anyone.

How to opt out

Use your privacy choices. The switch there turns off Google Analytics on this browser and expires the cookies it has already set. We also honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends that signal, Google Analytics is never loaded at all and you do not need to do anything. California treats GPC as a valid opt-out under the CCPA and CPRA, and we treat it that way everywhere, not only in California.

What we publish about accounting firms

Firm profiles are assembled from what each firm publishes on its own public website, plus state board licence registers where we have parsed them. Every profile cites its sources and shows when it was last refreshed. We host no reviews or ratings of our own, and we accept no payment for placement. What we never do

  • Sell or share personal information. There is none to sell.
  • Run advertising, remarketing or audience targeting.
  • Put you behind a form or a paywall to see a firm's details.
  • Track you across other websites.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it. We do not keep a mailing list, so there is nobody to notify.
